SOC 600 Handheld Imaging Directional Reflectometer

SOC The SOC 600 is the state-of-the-art imaging portable reflectometer developed for the evaluation of infrared properties of coatings. The applied imaging technology allows for the unmatched speed of generating the BRDF data (Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function), even compared with standard laboratory instruments. BRDF measurements using single-point detector are very time intensive. The small size and ruggedness of the SOC 600 make it possible to perform those sophisticated measurements directly on the sample in the field. The monitored wavebands are 3-5 and 8-12 µm.

When the BRDF is measured with sufficient completeness, other IR properties can be calculated: Directional Reflectance (DR), Hemispherical Directional Reflectance (HDR), Diffuse Reflectance, Specular Reflectance, Specular Lobe, Directional Emissivity (derived from DR at near-grazing angles). Except for the SOC 600, no reliable method exists for making field measurements of Directional Reflectance from normal incidence to 85°.
