FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Surface Optics Corporation awarded SBIR for Advanced Hyperspectral Signature Integration with Airborne and Ground-based Laser TechnologySan Diego, CA (December 2002)
In the initial phase, SOC will use its hyperspectral imager, the SOC-700, in conjunction with the I-Site 3D Laser Imager to collect spatial and spectral data from various regions, then in conjunction with TEC, use this data to explore the most effective means of combining the data to improve classification accuracy. SOC will also develop a prototype system based on these two instruments for spatial/spectral acquisition of remotely sensed data. The result of these studies will be a ranking of the various techniques and data measures that were undertaken in the study in terms of their effectiveness, with the eventual goal being to incorporate them as part of a complete Lidar/Hyperspectral data acquisition system.
